BMW Dixi 3/15 DA1 Introduction
The BMW 3/15 was produced in July 1929 and it was BMW's second car. After the World War I the condition of BMW became very hard. The Versailles treaty powerfully qualified plane industry in Germany and companies had to search for new fields for business.
Because of that BMW start developing boat and truck engines, motorcycles and later car producers. When the BMW Dixi business collapsed, BMW took the chance and bought the permit for the Austin seven as good as the Eisenach mill.
The production of the car was continued as BMW 3/15 PS SA1 for the first months. The BMW 3/15 PS DA1 was the one of the best customizable cars because it had many different body shells.
The name 3/15 DA1 was derived from the tax year 3, power produced by engine i.e. 15 HP and DA stands for Deutsche Ausfuhrung (German reading).
